The Japanese word for teacher is "Sensei". The literal translation is "the one who comes before", implying they teach from a place of experience and wisdom.

Practicing Aikido for almost 50 years, Peter MacLean Shihan is one of the longest teaching instructors in Canada.

Ted Yoshioka
Instructor, 5th Dan
For over 30 years Ted has practiced in cities all over Asia and has an encyclopedic knowledge of Aikido.

Blayne Haverkort
Instructor, 3rd Dan
Blayne started Aikido in Antigonish. He went on to practice both in Vancouver and the Aikikai Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan before returning to Antigonish.
